Leader of the Honorable Army Jeon Hae-san

Jae Hae-san mobilized the Daedong Changui Honorable Army when Japan forced Korea to sign the imperialist Eulsa Treaty in 1905. The army participated in 71 battles in Sunchang, Gochang, Jeongeup, Hampyeong, Naju and Yeonggwang, killing hundreds of Japanese soldiers. He was arrested by a Japanese soldier on his way home and sent to Daegu Prison. He passed away in prison at the age of 31 on 19 July 1910. As his body was sent to his birthplace, Wonchon, Beonam-myeon, his wife, Mrs. Kim of the Kimhae Clan, killed herself. The monument for the leader Jeon Hae-san was later raised in Jangsuyurim.
